As I sit here in someone else's house, I find myself afraid of what's to come in my future. It's getting to that point in my life where I am approaching freedom, and that scares me to my wits end. I find myself having an unsettled heart about little things, like about where the money will come from, if I really should be following the path that seems sufficient for me or is it something that I selfishly want for myself to do and not what the Lord wants me to do, or am I in the place that the Lord wants me to be right now. My mind has been racing with doubts, with discouraging thoughts, with the feeling of unworthiness. Satan finds his way in at the times where it's easiest to attack.
"Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him." James 1:12
" Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm." Ephesians 6:10-12
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13
Sometimes I expect the Lord to provide when I don't have full faith in his almighty power. I can spend an entire day telling others that I have given these hardships, these doubts, to the Lord, yet at the end of the day why isn't my heart settled?
I truly believe that sometimes having faith requires us to let go of the comfort we have in holding on to this world, and LET GOD. Find worth in scripture, in worship, in prayer. Find peace in the fact that no matter what you do to control your own life, your plans are not sufficient, only the Lord's are. Find confidence in God's Word, that whatever door he puts in front of you, whether you open or close it, that you know he is GOOD. Last but not least, have faith that the Lord is holding you in the palm of his hand, knowing exactly what is to come. Be patient and wait for the Holy Spirit to do his works in your life. It's on his time, not ours.
Find comfort in the Lord. Believe in the power of the Holy Spirit.
