Humble yourselves before the Lord.

I started this summer reading through John, and it has taking me a whole month to read through half of it. John is FULL of Jesus.
I just finished reading John 15,
" I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
REMAIN in Jesus. How difficult it can be to do just that. How easy it becomes to get caught up in our world, even in our Christian world. It can become so easy to lose sight of our purpose here.
Jesus asks the disciples to cut off all other branches that don't bear fruit, they don't serve his Father. My challenge for myself for the rest of the summer is to do just that. Cut off these branches that hinder my relationship with Christ, and the way that I serve him.

Living in humility has been hard, and trying to not do things on my own has been even harder. But the Lord never stops working, never stops showing me that I can't do it on my own. The Lord has humbled me in these past four weeks.

I did not choose him, but He CHOSE me. I pray daily that I can continued to be humbled by him, and serve him fully while remaining in his love. God created us to be the branches to his vine. I pray and hope that I may find complete joy only in him for the rest of my summer here at Windy Gap.

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." John 15:13
