Week one of my adventures at CCR

As I drove away from Tennessee, it still didn't hit me that I was moving to what seemed like a foreign place to me. I have never moved away from home, and I knew that this could be a fearful transition for me. However, God calmed my heart, revealing over and over again throughout the two day drive there that I really am following His will for my life.
My wonderful friend Kendal was so kind to ride with me to Colorado, making the ride so much more fun and bearable. We made a pit stop in St. Louis to visit her Young Life leader, and spent the night in Kansas City. My mind at this point was racing with anxious thoughts and fears of what the next two days were about to hold. As we arrived in Denver Monday evening, it then hit me hard that my life was about to change drastically.

"Now God has us where it wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust in him enough to let him to do it." Ephesians 2:10 MSG

Overwhelmed with feelings, I pulled into camp, in a state of excitement and panic. Pulling up to our house, I started to believe that this couldn't be real life. The ten of us leave in a three story house, right next to the camp. How blessed we all feel to live in one of the most beautiful places in Colorado right in the middle of God's creation.

This past week has been full of getting to know you games and plenty of laughter and adventures. I honestly couldn't of asked for a better group of people to be with for the next year and to walk together through life as we grow to know Jesus even deeper. We all have such different personalities, yet fit together as such a great community of people in love with serving the Lord at Young Life camp.

My job for the next two months will be in the kitchen, cooking for hundreds of people a week. This first week has been SO much fun, getting to know the kitchen staff and learning how to cook. Even though it's very behind the scenes, I love knowing that I am part of the backbone of what makes camp run, and part of the process of people coming to know Jesus.

What God has put on my heart this week:

"He will endure as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations." Psalm 72:5

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." Romans 3:23-24

God is forever faithful. As much as we fail and lose faith, his faith endures. What an amazing promise! I will always be a sinful person, yet God will never increase nor decrease his faith towards me. He always remains the same. All of us are alike, full of sin, and no one is better than the other. The ten of us interns have come under one roof from different walks of life and struggling with different things. Yet together, we become an army that strive to take up the cross daily and serve our Heavenly Father. As different or similar as we may feel from one another, we will always have one thing in common: Jesus.

Thank you all who have supported me and prayed for me as I begin this year journey in Colorado. God sure does have so much in store, and I am so excited that I am able to share them with my family and friends.
